NOTE: Parallax Online is pausing submissions for the time being. We will provide an update by September 2024, if not earlier.

Parallax Online accepts work from high school students worldwide, and welcomes submissions in poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and dramatic writing. Submissions must be in English. We will accept English translations; please submit in the appropriate genre category and label the piece as a translation, including the author’s and translator’s name. Please include a three-sentence bio written in third person in your cover letter, as well as your email address.

We accept simultaneous submissions, but please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere. We generally do not accept work that has been published elsewhere, but if you are interested in submitting a piece that has been published previously in your high school’s literary journal, please query and we may consider it. Please send one submission at a time (for poetry, one submission can include up to three poems).

All submissions must be in English (English translations are acceptable).

Include a third person bio and submit via our submission manager. Please include your email address in the cover letter area of the submission form as well.

Submit in either .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf format.

All work should be submitted in a readable (i.e. Times New Roman, Cambria, Georgia) 12 pt. font.

Always include page numbers.

Here are some guidelines:

Prose: Anything up to 3000 words, about any topic. Fiction or Creative Nonfiction. Please double-space. Please no academic essays.

Poetry:  You may submit up to three poems at a time. No word limit.

Dramatic Writing: All formatting (stage directions, characters, and dialogue) must be clearly distinguishable. Twelve-page limit.
